Types and stages of sleep
When you sleep, this sleep cycle consists of 4 stages in two different types of sleep.

Normal Sleep or NREM Sleep
This is a normal type of sleep where you don't get a dream. This is also called sleep Non Rapid Eye Movement (NREM). This sleep can be broken down into 3 stages

NREM Stage 1 - This stage occurs when you first decide to sleep and your eyes are closed. This is light sleep and usually lasts for 1-10 minutes. If you wake up at this stage, you will be fully awake.
NREM Stage 2 - when you enter this stage, sleep becomes serious. Your heart rate slows down your body temperature and it prepares you for deep sleep. It lasts for around 20 minutes and is a little difficult to get up from this stage.
NREM Stage 3 - This step starts 35-45 minutes after you decide to sleep. Brain waves slow down and get bigger. Noises outside do not disturb you at this stage. If you wake up during this stage of sleep you will be confused for a few minutes.
REM sleep
This is also called sleep stage 4. This is the last stage of the sleep cycle, which lasts about 20 minutes. Your eyes move quickly when your eyes move quickly to sleep and your muscles are completely inactive. You dream during this period but you may not remember your dream while you wake up. Some people even sleep while walking and wet their bed during this stage.

All night you enter these four stages and each stage lasts longer when the night continues. In the last cycle, your stage 4 sleep lasts for one hour.

How long should we sleep?
Your sleep needs depend mostly on your age and lifestyle. Scientists have studied sleep patterns extensively and obtained recommended bedtime.

5. Maintain weight
Weight gain is a psychological and physiological problem. When you haven't slept well, your mood decreases so you don't want to exercise. This cycle determines that there are no exercise routines in long-term weight gain.

At the physiological level, fatigue encourages you to look for food and increase food intake in the long run causing weight gain. So sleep well and control your weight.

6. Better sex life
If you are tired and don't sleep, your sex drive reduces the impact of sex life. A good night's sleep can make you healthy and more active.
