Indonesia is a country consisting of islands and has various types of tribes from various regions in Indonesia. Seen from anywhere, Indonesia has a lot of differences, whether it's religion or belief and also the local language. But apart from all language differences, Indonesia has the national language, namely Indonesian, which is able to unite all differences and make Indonesia as a unitary state consisting of various cultures, languages, and religions.
The diversity of cultures and tribes in Indonesia makes every tribe in various regions have various types of traditional music instruments that are very unique and beautiful. Following are the kinds of traditional music instruments in Indonesia:
1) Gamelan

Gamelan is a traditional Indonesian music instrument that is very popular among other musical instruments. Almost in all regions of Indonesia know Gamelan music instruments, because most regions in Indonesia use Gamelan music instruments for accompaniment in various types of dance performances or other art performances, so that many people in Indonesia how the form of Gamelan music instruments.
2) Angklung

Angklung is a traditional musical instrument made of bamboo. Angklung is a unique type of musical instrument because it is made of bamboo pipes, which are cut off the ends, resembling the pipes of greeting an organ and tied together in a frame, which is sounded by vibrating, so that it has a beautiful sound. The tone arrangement of angklung, namely 2, 3, to 4 in each size.
The type of bamboo used to make angklung is a type of black bamboo and bamboo ater, which if dried turns yellow to whitish color. Angklung has been known since the Sundanese kingdom, which was passed down from generation to generation so that it can be preserved into a unique local culture.
3) Kolintang

Kolintang or Kulintang can be called a traditional musical instrument in the form of a small row of gongs placed horizontally. Kolintang is one of the Southeast Asian gong cultures, which have been played for centuries.
In Indonesia, Kolintang comes from the Minahasa region, North Sulawesi. This tool is pitched from wood. The wood used to make it is light but strong local wood such as Weunang, Cempaka, Waru and wood species that have parallel fiber construction.
4) Serunai

This music instrument is also called the puppeteer Serunai. How to play it by blowing. Serunai is a traditional musical instrument from Minang.The origin of the traditional serunai musical instrument, originally from the Kashmir valley in the Indian plains. The previous music instrument was named Shennai, commonly used as playing music to lure snakes.
Serunai is usually played in traditional events, such as the ritual batagak panghulu. In addition, pentatonic pitched instrument is also often played in my spare time when people go to the rice field.
Serunai is a wind musical instrument made of two pieces of wood or hollow bamboo with different sizes. Small rod called a puput (pupuik). This rod is hand blown by the player and serves as a sound source. Larger trunks have four or more holes, and serves as a stylist tone. Both parts are connected into a major component of the Serunai.
